We often get questions about moving pianos as part of our normal moving service. To avoid any confusion we want to be clear that this is an non-standard service and does carry an additional charge.
Our moving company does move spinet and standard upright pianos. A standard upright piano is less than 48 inches tall. This excludes grand pianos, baby grands, and oversized uprights (more than 48 inches tall). Here is a good website to find out what style of piano you have http://www.bluebookofpianos.com/types.htm.
The rate for moving a standard piano with 2 or less stairs is $75 per location. Stairs are considered to be any change of height more than 4 inches. If moving up or down stairs there will be additional charges based on the obstacles at that location.
Often during a move, the change in temperature and humidity from one location to another can change the tune of your piano. We do not recommend leaving your piano in a truck or storage unit for more than 2-3 days as that may permanently warp the soundboard. Our service does not include piano tuning.

Are You An Insured Moving Company?
Are you insured movers?
YES! Many moving companies can say they are insured but you don't really know if they have general liability or real mover's insurance. Some may not even be insured even if they claim they are.
We are the only moving labor service in Cincinnati to be fully insured and certified by both the AOAML and the AMLPA.
Our insurance is true mover's insurance and not just a general liability policy that anyone can get for their home or business. The difference is that mover's insurance covers your property and home while we are providing our services and general liability requires you to sue and a court to decide that a company is liable for damages.
The majority of moving companies pay $0.60/lb on insurance claims. Basically that means when those other movers break a $1200 flat screen TV that weighed 80lbs they only have to pay about $50 to you for the claim. We are not making that up, call and ask them.
Our insurance is full coverage moving insurance up to $250,000 per incident and $1,000,000 total. We reserve the right to replace damaged or missing items with items of like kind and quality. Claims are figured at replacement value minus a $300 deductible. We reserve the right to verify all claims using reasonable standards to verify any claim. Before you believe statements made by any moving company, ask to see their "certificate of coverage".

4WeHelp Movers Go Green with TerraPass
We are movers that believes our planet needs all the help it can get. In that spirit we are a green moving company.
One of the ways we do that is being a proud business member of TerraPass for more than 3 years.
TerraPass is a social enterprise that provides carbon offsetting products to individuals and businesses. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, TerraPass uses proceeds from member purchases to fund greenhouse gas reduction projects such as wind farms and methane digesters. TerraPass products include a Road TerraPass to offset car emissions, a Flight TerraPass to offset airplane emissions, a Home TerraPass for home energy use, a Business TerraPass for organizations, and a Wedding TerraPass for weddings and other events.
Of course no one person or company can do it alone. We hope that at some point we are no longer the only Green Moving Service in Cincinnati.

4WeHelp is named a charter member of the AOAML
The Association of American Moving Labor is a service that helps you find real moving labor services.
Unfortunately in many states our industry is not regulated. That means that anyone who wants to pretend they are a "mover" can put an ad online and there is no one to verify their claims. You see these companies advertising claims about being cheap all the time. The reason they are cheap is because they don't have the proper licensing or insurance, they hire day labor or they don't value their employees enough to pay a decent wage.
The AOAML is a non profit organization created to help the consumer find a reputable, insured moving labor company that has the full licensing available in their state.
We are proud to be named the FIRST Charter Member in the state of Ohio.

What Federal and State Licensing do you have.
What state and federal licensing do you have?
We are a licensed business in the state of Ohio. We have both am EIN and a Dunn-Bradsteet number.
At the time of this writing neither the federal government nor the states of Indiana, Kentucky or Ohio provide a way for moving labor services to have licenses or registration numbers. The state of Ohio requires a moving company to have a commercial vehicle to assign a license number. As our company does not own any moving trucks, the state of Ohio does not allow us to have a PUCO number.
We do hope that state laws will soon change and set standards for moving labor services. This would help us to differentiate our quality and commitment from that of cheap or part time services.
Update: Since originally posting this the American Moving Labor Professionals Association has been started and now has a program for the verification of insurance and other licensing. They are a non profit organization that offers a free membership.

What is a Moving Labor Service?
The simplest definition of a moving labor service is a moving company that provides real movers to load a truck, storage space or mobile storage unit that the customer rents.
Really it is a lot more than that. A moving labor service has the same experience, equipment and insurance as the movers you think of or see on TV and in the movies. The difference is they help you move your home in a much more economical way than a traditional moving company.
You see, most states require a company that owns a moving truck to have at least $1,000,000,000 liability insurance. The cost of a moving company breaking a belonging is relatively minimal, maybe a couple thousand dollars if they are moving an antique or very large TV. Their liability really increases when they pull their large truck onto the road and are driving it to your home. Not because of its contents but because of the cost of them being in an accident and potentially hurting someone else.
Of course that liability costs the moving company a lot of money and to be profitable, they pass the costs on to you. They also have the added cost of maintenance for their trucks, insurance and paying this even when they are sitting during slow times. Then they have to pay their movers to drive the truck to you, all over Cincinnati and back to their warehouse.
A moving labor company doesn't have those expenses because you provide the truck. As a consumer renting a truck from Penske Truck Rental or providing a storage unit from UNITS Mobile Storage, you have removed that cost and liability from the equation. As a company our costs are approximately half that of a traditional moving company.
But do you get the same quality? YES!
A moving labor company that has been certified by the Association Of American Moving Labor or the American Moving Labor Professionals Association is a moving labor company that meets certain standards and has proven they have proper insurance, licensing and credentials. Both the AOAML and the AMLPA also check reviews and other consumer information to make sure that a direputable company cannot join.
Many people in these harder economic times are turning to "do it yourself' moving" because the thousands of dollars they would pay to a traditional moving company are simply not in the budget. Our moving labor company provides affordable moving help to anyone moving in Cincinnati and the surrounding area.
