The year is almost over and we have some amazing plans for for next year. We want to state right now that we plan to be the Mover of the Year for 2010.
That is next year though. Before that we want to take a moment to thank everyone. We love being Cincinnati's choice for moving. Our customers are great and we are very pleased that they think we are also. It is because of their trust and appreciation that everything we do is possible.
In the past we have done a lot to make our business stronger and some of it is based on customer suggestions. We always listen to our customers and what they think about our business and moving in general. If you have any ideas about whar you think would make a great moving company, let us know. You can call us anytime, 513-575-HELP or leave a comment below.
Then check back in a few days and see what we are planning to do next.

4WeHelp announces Flat Rate Moves
Everyone realizes the problem with a full service move is the cost and lack of control on a customers part.
Several years ago many moving services began offering the labor to load and unload the trucks a customer rents. This gave the customer much more control over their move and a significantly lower cost. The problem with a moving labor service was the pricing is often based on an hourly rate and can vary greatly. The customer isn't sure what they will end up paying.
The 4WeHelp Cincinnati Movers offer a solution to both of these problems. Our flat rate moving service will load or unload your truck or container at a set price. Visit our website and check out our Flat Rate Moving Service for more information.

To all our fellow Movers
We hope you have had a productive year. We also hope that in the coming year, we will all grow together and prosper.
There are a lot of choices for moving here in Cincinnati. Many of us strive to build an honest, respectable business. Those of us who pay our employees well, don't hire day labor or skimp on insurance have to compete with companies that simply don't offer the same level of quality and service. While we cannot be the cheapest and provide quality service, we can be the best service and provide real value.
There will always be cheap movers out there. The guys who don't care about being a better business or providing real value in their service. And there will be customers who hire them because they don't care about reputation or who they hire, they just want to move cheap.
There is also the customer who does want more. They expect that when a company advertises they are licensed and insured, that company is telling the truth. They also understand that you cannot charge the same prices as you did years ago unless you are cutting corners somewhere or were overpriced to begin with. These customers are educated, intelligent and appreciative of the service real movers offer.
Unfortunately the line between we, real movers, and those cheap movers is easily blurred. The pretenders do not hold the values we do and can then mislead the customer. We all know who they are and we see them advertise a lot of things that simply are not true. We have struggled with this since we started business in 2004. Looking around Craigslist and other websites we see this problem growing. In a city the size of Cincinnati there simply cannot be as many real moving companies as we see advertised.
We realized we needed a way to stand above the illegals and scam companies. To do that earlier this year we joined the American Moving Labor Professionals Association. You can find out more about them at AMLPA.org We joined the AMLPA to prove that what we advertise is true and that our service has the integrity many others lack.
Our point in explaining all of this is to ask the real movers to unite with us. And if you are one of the services who may just be starting or not sure how to become a legal and insured mover, we welcome you too. The AMLPA is free to join so if you are a reputable company, show everyone.
Please help us show the customers that care about service and security that they have a real choice in who they hire.

Be Healthy!
Here in Cincinnati we are always glad to help a fellow locally owned business. One of those is the guys at www.behealthynutrition.com
As movers we get plenty of exercise. Sometimes that isn't enough and especially during the long summer days we need to make sure we eat right. Be Healthy Nutrition is the company we ask for help keeping us in shape and whenever we need any nutritional advice.
Trust us, if you need help with any nutritional needs or living healthy, go to www.behealthynutrition.com

Moving Labor Service Insurance
We have had some interest in comments that we made in an earlier blog about moving labor insurance. The AMLPA is the organization that helped us find insurance coverage that was much more comprehensive and less expensive than anything else on the market.
Because advertising and referral laws are so strict for insurance companies we cannot give a lot of details. We can say that AMLPA members enjoy services and programs of all kinds.
If you are interested in more information about insurance for a moving labor company contact the AMLPA by visiting their website at http://www.amlpa.org. Because they are a non profit organization it is affordable to join and many of their services are free.

Moving Books for Kids
A study once said that moving is the most stressful planned event a family can have. Often as we adults we don't think of how kids handle a move, especially if it is a long distance move. We found a few books that will help anyone moving with children.
- We're Moving (First-Time Stories)
- When kids move, they aren’t just leaving behind their house. They are also moving away from the special things they did with their family there - like plant a garden, play tag in the yard or have an Easter egg hunt. This story for young elementary school kids addresses that, and how you can make new memories like those in your new home too.
- Where is Bear-Bear on Moving Day?
- This is a story about a little girl who learns about loss and change when her best friend (Bear- Bear) is missing on moving day. This story helps children deal with any sense of loss from losing from moving out of a home. It also teaches them hope and the value of family support.
- Moving Day (Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls)
- This book comes from the series "Allie Finkle’s Rules for Girls". Known for her work in The Princess Diaries series, Cabot takes readers through Allie Finkle’s reaction and reality when her family moves across town.
- The Moving Book: A Kids' Survival Guide
- by Gabriel Davis - This book is oriented towards tweens. It is a combination moving scrapbook and moving guide. It includes advice on packing, discovering the new house and neighborhood and also getting valuable information from the old friends so that they aren’t forgotten.
- The Berenstain Bears' Moving Day
- The Berenstain Bears are moving to a new tree house and Brother Bear isn’t sure he’s going to like it. This is perfect for talking to your preschooler about a move.

Do you need help loading or unloading a UHaul truck?
We have a lot of experience loading and unloading UHaul trucks and trailers in Cincinnati.
While we do not recommend UHaul trucks we realize some people have no other choices in their area. UHaul does have the largest fleet and most locations. If you aren't moving in Cincinnati ask your local moving labor company and they may be able to help you find better alternatives.
As experienced movers we can tell you what kind of UHaul truck you have just by reading the truck number off the back. One little note, UHaul's recommendations for what size truck you should rent is VERY optimistic. To get a better judge of what size truck you try Penkse's rental truck sizing tool.
If you aren't looking for a Cincinnati moving company you can find professional and insured movers across the United States to help you load your UHaul truck or trailer at www.amlpa.org

Tipping your movers
Do your movers expect tips? While tips for any of our services are always appreciated, they are not expected. Many of our customers do tip us and we truly appreciate their generosity.
Please so not ask us how much you should not tip. Because we do not expect tipping, we cannot tell you how much you should give us. Give what you can afford and believe we have earned.

Movers and dog poo
Most people don't think of moving tips including dog poo. Unfortunately in the moving business we are all to familiar with it.
Often we movers have to make a trip through a yard to carry an appliance out of a kitchen or move furniture into a basement. Today we hade a job moving a very large armoir that could not fit through any interior doors. We had to go out the front door, around the house and into a very nice furnished bsement.
When walking across a lawn moving furniture that weighs 300 pounds, we can't really watch where we walk. Our customer had dogs and we stepped in some of their leftovers. We had to stop to clean our shoes before entering the house which meant setting everything down. This cost the customer extra time and money.
This sort of thing can easily be avoided. Our customer thought ahead to move his car, lawn chairs and other items that might hinder us. If you know that your movers are going to have to cut through your yard also check for the little presents left by your pets.

4WeHelp Movers Go Green with Recycling
Moving is an extremely wasteful process. There are boxes that get thrown away, moving trucks get horrible gas mileage, everyone has a paper you need to sign and then gets thrown away.
We wanted to share a few steps we have taken to be a greener moving company.
We wanted to share a few steps we have taken to be a greener moving company.
- We buy used moving pads from other companies, then wash and repair them. Many of our blankets are even made from 100% recycled fibers.
- Our new contracts are printed on 100% post consumer waste, recycled paper. "Post consumer waste" means that they were made from paper that was used and then thrown away.
- We recycle boxes for our customers. If they are in good condition we share them with other customers so they don't have to buy new ones. If they aren't usable as a box we use them for other moving related needs. Once they are tattered we send them to a recycling plant.
- We use cotton rope for tying off. Cotton rope is better for the environment than rope made from petroleum products like nylon or polyurethane rope.
